College Scholarship

Service to Community Scholarship

Redwood Empire Active 20-30 Club is excited to announce the launch of a “Service to Community” scholarship! We created this scholarship award for female high school seniors residing in and attending school in Sonoma County, who have demonstrated a strong commitment to volunteerism in their community. Scholarships in the amount of $500-$1,500 will be awarded based on service to the community and financial need.

For over twenty years, Redwood Empire Active 20-30 Club has been dedicated to providing hands-on volunteer and financial support to local non-profit agencies that serve disadvantaged children and youth. Since the year 2000, we have donated over $115,000 to local charities. This scholarship will give Redwood Empire Active 20-30 Club, a women's organization, the opportunity to honor young women who have demonstrated ideals similar to our national motto: “Youth, to be served, must serve.”

To be considered for one of the Service to Community Scholarships, please complete the application available on this webpage, and mail it to:

Redwood Empire Active 20-30 Club

P.O Box 11133

Santa Rosa, CA 95406.

Applications must be postmarked by March 30th.

Scholarship Application Guidelines:

  1. Applicants must attach a single-sided, two page (maximum) double spaced essay describing your unique experiences in volunteering in your community. Discuss any of the following subjects: What made you choose/create this project, how did you help the community, how many people were affected by your work, why is community service important to you, what have you gained or learned from this experience and what will you do in the future?
  2. Include a one-page letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, Charity Director, or person familiar with your community service and financial need.
